Operating lease is tailored for businesses who don’t want to own the assets, and don’t want them on their balance sheet. Residual values can be taken by either the manufacturer/supplier or a financial institution. You simply pay monthly rentals for a period shorter than the economic life of the asset, in exchange for the use of the asset.
